Learning Objectives:
After attending this course participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the evolution of psychoanalytic theory from a one-person to two-person psychology.
  2. Compare and contrast each theory addressed in this workshop.
  3. Provide one case example and discuss this same example from a Freudian, self-psychology, object relations and contemporary theoretical perspective.
  4. Describe the role of the clinician and the therapeutic relationship in providing a safe environment conducive to change.
