EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing, is an evidence based mind/body treatment that reduces trauma and other symptoms.  Through a didactic presentation, participants will be introduced to its origins, the main components of the eight phase EMDR Therapy, and positive and negative cognitions.  Basic brain science will be reviewed, emphasizing how simultaneously combining the left and right sides of the brain, (thoughts and feelings) promotes deep healing. Participants will be introduced to the commonality of human emotional experience, thereby eliminating differences of environment, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, age, gender, and other differences in treatment.  An EMDR case conceptualization will be discussed.
