In this workshop, the instructors will discuss how a child’s understanding of the concept of death is influenced by family, culture, and developmental capacity. This overview is important for all clinicians to consider because as children grow and develop, their context for understanding death and grief changes. Re-grieving loss from an adult perspective can also influence future losses. Hence, grief is not about “getting over it” but managing it through one’s lifespan.
