UTILIZING THE BASIC SIX PART SYSTEM AS AN INTERNAL RESOURCE FOR THE AUTHENTIC SELF

Program Description

A new perspective on Parts Work will be introduced that is simplistic and straight-forward for clinicians and clients to utilize. A generalization and history of Parts Work will be reviewed. The Basic Six Part System will be described in detail with assistance from videos. Instructions of how to visualize, accept, and align internal Parts will be described. The use of lecture, case transcripts, and a script for participants to practice within this workshop will reveal the effectiveness of creating a cohesive internal system that is an everlasting resource for the client.

The Advanced Clinical Education (ACE) Foundation of the NYS Society for Clinical Social Work, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed marriage and family therapists #MFT-0028; licensed mental health counselors #MHC-0045; licensed psychoanalysts #P-0017; licensed psychologists #PSY-0121; and licensed social workers #SW-0056.

Out of State Providers:

Out-of-state providers are welcome to request a certificate upon completion of the presentation evaluation but must check with their own state licensing boards to inquire about whether or not the certificate is recognized as transferrable for CEs in their state’s jurisdiction.

Program Details

As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the function of parts.
  2. Explain how to resource one or more Parts of Self.
  3. Name two styles of Attachment.
  4. Describe the “The Window of Tolerance.”

Psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, licensed psychoanalysts, nurse practitioners and family and marriage/couple therapists and mental health counselors.

This seminar is appropriate for clinicians with all levels of experience.

Julie Dubovoy, LCSW-R is the Long Island EMDR Regional Coordinator and an Approved EMDRIA Consultant therapist specializing in trauma with children, adolescents, and adults at her private practice in Long Island, NY. She earned her MSW from Columbia University. Julie has written sub-articles for Jaleh Donaldson’s book titled “Making Marriage a Success”, (2011). She has facilitated several presentations on working with children. Julie has lectured multiple times at EMDR Regional meetings and at one and two-day workshops on The Basic Six Part System for Improved EMDR Processing.
