New graduates can learn how to find jobs in an agency form “tips” on resume-writing, to best interview practices.  Agency workers can learn how to navigate their agency employment more effectively.  Often time, prospective employees sabotage their chances for employment by certain behaviors they may not even be aware of.  Resumes which resemble “War and Peace” may look like a winner but will likely be tossed in the “circular file.”  Being prepared for an interview can mean more than just showing up.

Learning Objectives:
After attending this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Identify challenges and obstacles in getting and keeping an agency job from the perspective of both employer and employee.
  2. List the best ways to navigate the agency culture and how agencies have changed over time.
  3. Explain four ways to avoid burnout and define ways to know it is time to move on.
